peter had this idea in his head and he just couldn’t shake it. we had to take our christmas tree out to the beach, set it up, figure out how to get power and have a lit and decorated christmas tree while we camped:). we have a little tradition that on ever holiday, we go camping at polihale state park and we call it polihalidays. i guess this year we took it to the next level;)
peter did most of the work so i can’t take credit for this idea, (i helped decorate, a bit;)) but it really was magical to have our christmas tree set up in the sand while we sat and watched the sun go down and the sky turn to stars (and later, rain… haha). this is my first christmas almost ever that i will be without my family but thankfully we will be seeing them in a few weeks over in vietnam and thailand and it was awesome to get to spend this ‘polihaliday’ evening with them before they left. i’m ever grateful to have a man who makes me feel like i’m home no matter where we are, and whether you’re in the snow or at the beach there is just something so magical about christmas.
and to make the holiday even more magical, some friends in the campsite beside us sent off 50 Chinese lanterns into the sky, i had never seen these before but WHY ARE WE NOT ALWAYS BUYING CHINESE LANTERNS!? they are seriously the coolest!
i hope you all have a wonderful holiday surrounded by people you love, great friends, food and laughter. merry christmas friends from peter and i!! xox
